The TLFFRA Education Foundation was formed for the purpose of educating fire fighter pension board members. The goal of the non profit is to provide educational opportunities, including annual statewide conferences, regional workshops, lectures, and other events as the board deems appropriate. Serving on a pension board is often a secondary role that is a voluntary duty for the individuals involved. Educating board members on fiduciary responsibility, board management, and sound investment practices is crucial for the health of these pension funds.

The board is proud to have played a key role in educating fire fighter pension board members since 2007, and is prepared to help continue the tradition of TLFFRA conferences, depending on future actions of the Texas Legislature.
